Antara Sengupta, Research Assistant, Indian Institute of Management

Currently an Erasmus+ scholar pursuing the Erasmus Mundus Master’s programme in Education Policies for Global Development – jointly hosted by the University of Glasgow, Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Bremen and University of Cyprus. For which, Sengupta is one of 15 recipients of a complete tuition-fee waiver & subsistence scholarship by the European Commission.

Previously Antara was associated with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) — India’s premier public policy think-tank, in the capacity of a Research Fellow working on higher education policy and research. In this capacity, she has worked with the Government of Maharashtra in drafting the State’s Skills University Act and also prepared an interim report for the establishment of an integrated tribal university in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. She also contributed to back-end research and consultations on India’s draft National Education Policy, 2019. She has written extensively for national and international media and journals.

A journalist by training, Sengupta spent her early years as a Senior Correspondent (Education) with Hindustan Times — one of India’s most read English daily, and as assistant producer at CNBC TV18.
