Eduardo Calderón Cuevas

I have specialized in the design, coordination, deployment and evaluation of educational, labour and social policies. Throughout my professional career, I have promoted many initiatives to facilitate effective education-to-employment partnerships, so I am a firm believer in the cooperation between the private and the public sector to generate projects whose impact seeks the common good.

I have a PhD in Applied Economics and my research focuses on:

  • Skills for life and employability;
  • Youth transitions from the educational to labour world;
  • Technical Vocational Education and Training;
  • Efficiency in Public Employment Services;
  • The effects of education and labour policies particularly in vulnerable groups.

Some examples of my achievements as a public server for more than 15 years are:

  • Design and coordination, in collaboration with civil society organizations, of the first model of entrepreneurial skills for all public high schools in Mexico.
  • Design and coordination, in collaboration with the business chambers of Mexico and Germany, the first National the Dual Educational option in Mexico.

The type of professional work and the research in which I have been involved, have allowed me to know in depth the functioning of both, the educational and employment system of México.
