Saikat Maitra is Assistant Professor at the Public Policy and Management Group, Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta, Kolkata. He has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. He has published in the area of labour and urban studies. His current research interests include the history of vocational education in India and India’s current ‘Skill Mission’.
